I'm Lenard Wood.Originally from Pietermaritzburg,Kwa Zulu Natal,South Africa.Being saved now for 4 years and it's still G'zus Christ for Life! Got saved at the height of my rap career,where I declined a contract with Sony back in '96.Got saved and the Pastor of the church were I fellowshipped after leaving my church,Ps Hilton Toohey ( New Zion Christian Fellowship )had a vision for young people and felt that they could express themselves in any way in the kingdom,that's where M.O.C was born.It was His encouragement to continue rapping,not for the World,but for God. I served as a youth leader in the church under a radical dynamic couple,Pastor Meryl and Sherwin Haines till I left for Pretoria in March 2000.This is where I currently live with my beautiful,God given,awesome,annointed woman of God and my wife Charmla. I work in Johannesburg at Astrolabe Systems in Rivonia as a systems Engineer.God has been to good to me and He continues to be good,cos he is "Good All The Time",in need and in Plenty! This is one of the Ministries I'm involved in,M.O.C (Ministers Of Christ )Is a live rap group consisting of 8 members,4 rappers,Lenard Wood a.k.a TAZ ( Leader ),Noleen Howard (Big Baby-female m.c),Daniel Fortuin (Dizzy D),Gordon Smith(Gordy),Michael Van Roos (Vocalist & Guitarist),The Band,Musa Zondi(Bass),Irvin Howard (Drummer)& Carl Ellis(keyboards,synth) We've seen God change people's mind sets w.r.t rap music in the church,youth getting saved all over Southern Africa,Older folks getting their "groove on" with our hip tracks and God using it as a tool to minister to youth and many changing their music to godly music!We give God the Glory! We trusting God for a record deal so that many people can be blessed not only in our hometown,Pietermaritzburg,but also the rest of Africa and the world at large.Some of our composed tracks include our #1 favourite,"Praise",In my life,my personal testimony(TAZ),Love for Christ,co written with L.G(Llewelyn Green) and many more that minister to all age groups.Our style is a mixture of reggae,hip-hop SA rap.
